What is Parent/Family Involvement?
Positive Parent/Family Involvement is Essential to Student Achievement:
Research shows that when families are involved in a child’s education, test scores are higher, attendance is better and students have a more positive attitude. Central has developed a parent involvement plan that relates to students meeting academic goals and outlines opportunities for families to engage in their child’s education.

How Parents Can Help: Daily Conversation Starters: Recommended by Scholastic Parents

  1. Tell me about the best part of your day.
  2. What was the hardest thing you had to do today?
  3. Did any of your classmates do anything funny?
  4. Tell me about what you read in class.
  5. Do you think math [or any subject] is too easy or too hard?
  6. What's the biggest difference between this year and last year?
  7. What rules are different at school than our rules at home? Do you think they're fair?
  8. Can you show me something you learned (or did) today?

Thank you parents and family members for all that you do in preparing your children to come to school!
